Internet.nl checklist
This article only applies to websites we host on Linux/DirectAdmin.
A secure website is extremely important. Internet.nl has a tool that lets you easily test the security of your website and see what you still need to improve.
All our customers can achieve a 100% security score by following the instructions below.
Testing your website on internet.nl
- IPv6: normally you do not need to do anything here. By default, all domains with us have IPv6 addresses. If this no longer works, it is probably due to changes you made to the DNS yourself.
- DNSSEC: you can activate this for your domain yourself under 'My Domains'. Click here for an explanation
- HTTPS: you can activate this yourself; to do so, you need to set up an SSL certificate. Click here for an explanation of how to set up the Let's Encrypt certificate.
- HTTPS redirect: Click here for the explanation.
- HSTS: this is already enabled by default with us
- DANE: you can set up DANE on the same page as DNSSEC
Testing an email address on internet.nl
- IPv6: see the website test.
- DNSSEC: see the website test.
- DMARC: click here for an explanation of how to add a DMARC record
- SPF: this is enabled by default with us, but if you run into problems, you can find an explanation here.
- Domain name on certificate: mail is sent using our server certificate. That is not a problem.
- DANE: you can set up DANE on the same page as DNSSEC
- If you add DMARC, you can achieve the 100% score here too.
