- 3Sign in with your WebOké account, choose the permissions (read only or read and write) and a duration.
- 4Start a new conversation, enable the connector and give your first instruction.
- 1Enable Developer mode under Settings › Security and login.
- 2Go to Settings › Plugins, click the plus button and paste https://mijn.weboke.nl/mcp as the MCP server URL.
- 3Sign in with your WebOké account, choose permissions and duration.
- 4Tick the plugin in a new conversation and give your instruction.

What is an MCP server?
An MCP server is a kind of intermediary between an AI assistant and a system the AI normally cannot reach, such as your hosting package. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard from 2024 that is now supported by Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT, Codex), Mistral and most development tools.
The AI sees which actions the server offers, for example "read a file" or "write a file", and requests them when needed. The server checks that you gave permission, performs the action and returns the result. Your AI never gets direct access to the server and never your login details.
The WebOké MCP server is that intermediary for your hosting. It speaks the standard protocol, so any AI tool that supports MCP can work with it.

The AI can change files in your website folder, so a wrong instruction can break a page. That is why every action is logged, deleted files get a copy in the trash folder and the daily backups keep running. If you only want it to look and not change anything, choose "read only".
No. The conversation runs between you and your AI provider. WebOké only sees the actions the MCP server performs: which file was read or written, and when. Those are in your log.
Two levels: read only, or read and write. You also choose a duration. After that the access expires by itself. You can always revoke it earlier, with one click in My WebOké.
