What is an IP address?
What is an IP address
An IP address is a unique combination of numbers, consisting of 4 sets of up to 3 digits. Every computer or server on the internet has its own IP address. Without an IP address, a website, mail server or hostname cannot be traced and therefore cannot be reached.
What is my IP address
The computer you are working on now is connected to the internet. So this computer, or your entire (home) network, also has an IP address. This can be a fixed IP address, meaning you get the same number every time you connect to the internet, or a dynamic IP address, where you get a different IP address each time (although it is often the same). Most internet providers issue dynamic rather than fixed IP addresses.
Does my website with you also have an IP address, and which one is it?
Most of our customers use shared web hosting. This means your site is on a server that also hosts other websites, and in most cases you also share the IP address with those other websites.
You may have a new domain name or have registered the domain name elsewhere. In that case you can look up the IP address by typing in the server name. You can find the server name in your account details (available on mijn.weboke.nl via My Products). A server name could be, for example: linux33.webawere.nl
What is the IP address of your nameservers
We use 2 nameservers for all hosting servers. These are:
ns1.webawere.nl - 185.158.165.26
ns2.webawere.nl - 185.107.225.77
