PHP security
By default, all our servers have the following PHP functions disabled so that they cannot be used: symlink,shell_exec,exec,proc_close,proc_open,popen,system,dl,passthru,escapeshellarg,escapeshellcmd.
To accommodate our customers, some of these functions were enabled on certain servers in the past. Because most break-ins and break-in attempts on our customers' sites make use of these functions, we have decided to no longer make exceptions. A custom script that has not been carefully thought through, or a module for Joomla or other popular scripts, can easily contain holes that let hackers gain access to your account, and if they are really skilled, to other accounts on shared hosting servers as well. That is an undesirable situation, both for you and for us.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience in a few exceptional cases, but we trust you agree that the security and reliability of our servers come first.
